As an amateur, his rise through the amateur ranks began at age six when he won his first National Championship at Loretta Lynn’s in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. After 10 years, Alessi had tied James Stewart, Jr.’s all-time Amateur National championships with eleven.
He turned pro in 2004. He has won numerous races and finished 2nd Overall in the Lites Motocross Championship in 2005 and 2006, as well as 2nd Overall in the Premier Motocross Class in 2007 and 2012. He finished 2nd Overall in the 2014 Canadian Motocross Championship and won 5 out of 10 Overall finishes. He has ridden for several different teams throughout his career, and in 2016 he signed a split deal in which he rode Supercross for Smartop MotoConcepts Racing and Canadian Motocross for Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki.
He will be back with Smartop MotoConcepts Racing with the addition of Factory Honda in 2017.
